All kidding aside. I don't think Paul is all he pretends to be. I think he needs some advice from some professionals on running a business.
He had a good thing going but this hole is going to be had to dig out.
I sure would have to be the crew on tour with the Elio. Just think of the lies they will have to tell.

If what I am hearing is correct the engine news was already planned to happen but the decision on the delay is new. It actually makes sense to do to it in this order because EM received good engine media coverage without it having to play second fiddle to the delay.

The engine news may actually help soften the impact of the delay news as a lot of the media coverage will talk about the delay but also mention that EM has shown off their new engine and plans to run it publicly in a few weeks which does not make this sound like a company in trouble but instead simply a delay in the process.

EM does however need to get their production funding worked out sometime this year and get that equipment sold off so they can continue the vehicle development program which would really help them secure private funding. I really believe, and have shared here many times, that it will be much easier on EM to find funding when they have several pre-production prototypes undergoing testing as it changes the dynamic from a company with a concept they wish to produce to a company with a developed product they wish to produce. That distinction makes a huge difference to investors.

In three weeks when EM shows off the engine this will be old news so it will only be briefly mentioned in most articles as they cover the amazing feat of a start-up developing its own engine. This will blow over and life will move on. With all the other news about the engine, and eventually vehicle testing, that will come out this year this delay announcement will not damage EM in the long run.

Unfortunately this is not my first time experiencing a delay so I completely understand being down about it as I am a bit down myself but trying to keep pushing forward. Except for a few individuals the forum has actually been surprisingly quiet and well behaved this time around even when voicing their displeasure at the situation.

For those who are feeling really down it may be time for a break as that does help clear your mind at times. Just come back in a few weeks when the engine is running and you will feel much better. :cool:
