I just noticed this on one of the Tech blogs, "We have already reached agreements with several small businesses, government organizations and rental companies."

I wonder how that affected the reported reservations? I suspect it isn't counted, since some portion of this is likely just an agreement about paint, accessories and price per gross count.
But it does mean that the first year of production will be somewhere higher than total individual reservations.

There are 50 states, over 3000 counties, 60 major markets(stated by Elio Motors), over 100 major cities, (2007) 39,044 general purpose local governments, which includes 19,492 municipal governments, 16,519 township governments and the 3,008 counties.

The shear volume of fleet agreements could change substantially during this next year. Especially if we all sent an informative letter to our local governments, hint hint :)
I noticed that about the fleet agreements as well. Very encouraging. I doubt those are counted in the reservation numbers and are just agreements and no deposits made. Though i could be wrong. Either way, It's great to see another aspect of Elio doing things right.

I remember when I predicted we'd hit 40k reservations before end of the year. I was incorrect. :D

I also remember a time when a lot of the forum conversation was on reservations, how many, what rate, etc.
We kind of got burned out. The rate wasn't changing much. Let me put the month over month info out...

Elio Monthly Numbers 2015 01.JPG

As you can see, the numbers have been in the 42-55 range for 4 months, averaging 42.25 vehicles per day. Prior to September, Elio averaged 91.57 new reservations per day. Overall, they've averaged 91.5 per day. September was an unusually high reservation month.

In the last 3 months, it seems there has been a very gentle upward movement of reservations which could indicate we've seen the lowest numbers that Elio will encounter barring significant issues. Carrying the new 42 as the lowest number of reservations, they'll hit 40,000 reservations on 10 February, 2015.

Here are a couple of obvious variables:
1. Running engine
2. Running engine in finalized prototype(s)
3. Hiring at the plant
4. Production delay
5. The AMTV loan
6. Funding announcement in lieu of the loan
7. Elio options/prices finalized
8. Announcement of selected transmission(s)
9. Helmet and motorcycle vs. autocycle legislation announcements
10. Signs of Elio at Factory
11. Signs of Elio at Pep Boys and/or announcement about "out of area" warranty work
12. Factory machines placed/adjusted (tour of finalized production line)
13. Picture of new hires at factory

There are lots more but those are the big things that I think will affect reservations. It's my opinion so I'm never wrong to me. (just don't ask my wife)

I saw a person ask EM on Facebook if the fleet sales were counted in the reservation number posted on eliomotors.com, and the answer was something like "... the smaller fleet orders are included in the reservation total."

So we don't know what that small upper limit would be, but it sounds like they do have some sizeable fleet orders and that those large orders are not included in the reservation count, for some reason. How's that for vague, lol.

fleet orders could be agreed as a range or a moving count, so maybe that was the reason.

Mine is # 39252. So how many you think they will make the first year?

wow, they must have had a heck of a two week sales period .... the EM website shows 38177 as of Dec 29, 2014 .... a large percentage of those wouldn't be $1,000 All Ins which are the only ones with a reservation number .... a while back I was trying to run an estimate based on ours ending up with a number around 40,000 and based on their production estimates with starting date in Sept/Oct 2015 we figured ours would come off the line in mid 2016

Yeah I was kind of thinking it would be 2016 also. I pulled the trigger 1/4/15 so they are well beyond 39,252 now.

if you went $1,000 All In, you will get a reservation number from EM but I doubt that will happen for a few weeks .... the number you have probably is a receipt number, not a reservation number .... I've highest reservation numbers I recall seeing are something over 10,000 so when you get yours it should be much lower than 39,252
