Elio Addict
I'm the type who is never satisfied with anything. Seems that every item I buy, I look it over and see something I feel could have been better. My wife is always teasing me because I'm always out in my workshop modifying some gizmo I just bought.
I'm sure the German designed engine planned for the cars will be good. After all, who's better at engineering than the Germans (It's human relations where they seem to have problems). Anyway, this is what I wish Elio had done. In a nutshell; make a deal with BMW to use their Boxer twin motorcycle engine. I've owned 2 BMW bikes and the engines were great, smooth, reliable, quiet and dependable. I can remember going on trips across the western U.S. on the Interstates, with little traffic, at least a mile visibility ahead, radar detector on, and cruse control setting on 100.... The engine sounded like a sewing machine at that speed. I could cruse like this for hours and it didn't bother the Boxer a bit. In tens of thousands of miles I never had a problem. I suspect the cost of the Boxers might be the problem.
Oh well, we can't have everything...
