A co-worker showed me the elio last Thursday and asked if I'd drive one and I said HECK YES. I was hoping to see one at the Minneapolis Auto Show before going all in but of course elio wasn't there :(. Decided to go all in yesterday anyway.

As for me, I've been riding all kinds of motorcycles for more than three decades but the concept of a tadpole car/motorcycle has stuck with me since the early 80's when I followed a Bloomington, MN built freeway tadpole to see what it was. I even bought a tadpole bicycle (whizwheels) that is quite fun to ride around on.

The elio concept is truly enticing. I think of it as as option from driving my huge truck on days when I don't want to ride my bike or need to carry a little something that isn't convenient on the motorcycle. I'm really grooving on the idea of having not only heat but also a/c!

Welcome Jeff! You will find that a lot of us were attracted to the Elio for many of the same reasons and many of us also jumped in without having seen one in person either. When you do finally get to see it in person I am sure you will be even more impressed.

I hope you enjoy your time here and find the discussion friendly and helpful. If you have any issues with the forum please do not hesitate to contact a staff member.

Welcome to the forum. I never heard of Elio but saw it (P3) at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in September 2013. Got to see it, sit in it, feel it and fell in love with it. Went "all in" as soon as I got home.

Discovered Elio 2 weeks ago, just joined today, and was looking at the 'intros' and ran across you. Same interests in tadpole trikes and I too have my eyes on the Freeway. I really hope that the stars align to work in favor of Elio and don't get bogged down like the Tucker auto. Reply if you would like to chat.

Wheelman, welcome to the forum and glad you found it. It has all the latest information (good and bad) about the production schedule of this historic vehicle. Forum members are friendly, helpful, and fun. Enjoy the journey and the Elio experience.

Hi and welcome from Oregon, Jeff. I have not seen the Elio either but will be in July when it arrives in Portland. I am "all in" without any second thoughts and can't wait for the chance to drive my Elio. My son introduced me to the Elio in early January and a week later I knew more about it than he did. I was and am totally hooked. He also introduced me to this forum even though he is not a member - again, I am hooked. It has been a treat to meet so many interesting people who are also interested in the Elio. And I am learning so much. I expect to know more about my Elio by the time I get it than any other car I have ever owned. It is definitely an exciting adventure and I am glad you have joined us on our journey to Elio ownership. Next year in our Elios! :-) Z
