Hello, my name is Charles. From South Carolina originally, I have lived in Northern VA and now reside in Cumming Georgia. Went all in at $1k on an Elio last month. I studied Mechanical Engineering in the 1970's. I've worked in engineering a little. Most of my life I have been a serious martial artist (No not the watered down stuff seen in 99% of the so called martial arts schools). I owned my own martial arts school/Dojo fro many years. Retired now, I built my own dojo were I can train and teach a few private students. I also spent many years as a painter (houses and such ,not art). I reentered college and finished a BS degree in Computer Info Systems in 2003. My interests are mainly martial arts, science, engineering, lasers, and building things. I have learned that there is nothing I can't design and build if I want to bad enough. I always wanted to learn to weld, so I taught myself how. My passion is to design something from scratch and figure out what i need to build it and then build it. I'm very active right now in the Elio Motors Owners of Georgia facebook group. I look forward to both learning from others and i hope that I may be able to contribute something of value here too.

Charles welcome to the forum and congratulations on your number. Hopefully, you have had time to scroll around the forum because it has the latest information on the development of the Elio. Members here are friendly (mostly but we do have a few naysayers) and helpful. If you have a question just ask. Members try to make the forum informative and entertaining and we look forward to your comments, questions and opinions. Welcome and enjoy this historic journey

Thanks for the kind welcome. I'll do my best to be helpful here. I like to joke a little too, but I really don't appreciate those forum members that have nothing to contribute but spreading discord and saying jibber jabber that is of no use to them or anyone else. Wish we lived closer to each other I like to meet you some time. Later!

Weird... I replied to this post earlier but now it's gone. Welcome Charles! You sound just like the kind of guy we need around here. Not only educated but deadly with a stick too. :D

Thanks for the welcome. I hope to learn and contribute something if I can. Looking forward to seeing your posts here. Thanks again!

Congratulations and welcome from Oregon, Charles Stanley. Since you live in the home town of one of our moderators you will definitely have Elio company now and in the future. We are glad you are here and look forward to hearing more from you in the future. See you next year as we drive our Elios. :-) Z

I think there will be many gatherings of Elio owners in the future that will allow us to meet the many friends we have made on this forum. I know I plan on attending the first schedule Elio rally, no matter where it may be. There are many people who have made this forum enjoyable and informative and I'd like to thank them in person.
