Enthisiast ? Nawww. I was a Connesieur of touring, back before my, well, my back blew out, and my ex' informed me she wanted everything I owned, and half of everything I ever would own. With my questionable balance, at my age, I'll likely never ride 2 wheels again. I see the Elio vehicle as a LUXURY touring bike, that Anyone could pilot, in Any weather, Without leathers, for a third the price of an open-air ride. I'm in.

Hi and welcome from Oregon, LonePine. I am glad you are joining us. We have had several people join from Minnesota this week so the word must be getting out now that the snow is disappearing or has disappeared. We have a very eclectic group of Elio enthusiasts here and they are more than willing to discuss, argue, create, speculate and just about anything else to do with Elio. We also have a great support staff so if you have any questions or need any assistance, be sure to contact them. In the meantime, as we take this long journey to Elio ownership, I hope you enjoy exploring everything Elio here and on the EM website. Next year in our Elios! :-) Z

I can relate to the "half of everything I ever would own". LOL well-said.

I'm a new member here too, but welcome. Agreed on the luxury touring bike... completely enclosed, steering wheel, accelerator/brake/clutch pedals, ABS, seat belt, roll cage.

I still see critics pointing at the 5 or so states that have helmet laws for motorcycles with gasps of alarm. Retired from over 30 years with my local Sheriffs Office myself, I try to imagine any officer see a hard-top vehicle drive by, not speeding or weaving like a drunk, with an up-to-date license plate, and still pulling it over to write the driver for a "No helmet" violation. Zombie apocalypse is coming' first. Blessings on you and yours.

I can see them pulling you over out of curiosity, and using the helmet as the excuse however.

Welllll, okay. Yeah. I'll have to admit, there will always be a few of them out there, but a few meteors still make it through the atmosphere and hit the ground also. I guess I just meant that the far, Far greater number of law enforcement officers will have the good sense to look for more important things to attend to, and an Elio driver shouldn't spend time worrying about it. Hope to shake your hand and admire your chosen paint scheme someday. G'night.

Motor Cycle rider since I was 16. My max riding time is usually one hour due to a failing back. I'm looking forward to touring: NW Vermont to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, with lots of stops to stretch. Keep that back surgeon away. Love the design, aircraft tandem seating. Making plans for a nice trip in 2016. I'm confident Elio will be out in high numbers by 2016.

Been on the BlueRidge Parkway yet ? It'd be on your way, if I recall the details correctly. Roanoke to Asheville ? That highway is a literal work of art. A 450 mile mile long sculpture. Highly recommended. I s'pose Elio, what ? Clubs ? Are just a forgone conclusion. Hope to meet you out there someday.
