Hello everyone! I've been looking at and researching the feasibility of the Elio for about 6 months now and everyone of my friends, including my wife says don't do it!! Buy another $30,ooo truck! But I'm betting on the Elio. Why? I'm tired and retired. I have a cabin in the woods in the mountains that's close to fishing, hunting, running naked or what ever you want to do, but it's a hundred and twelve mile drive one way. I have a truck. A 2002 ford f150 that I bought new and use drive up there and I used it for building the place. I'm finished building. It uses quite a bit of gas to get there and back in plus using to drive all over the mother lode. With the Elio I could save tons of gas and have my midlife crises vehicle at the same time. So yes, I'm going all in for Christmas and I'll argue with the Mrs. later.

Welcome to our home. We are all united in seeing the success of this new autocar, whose progress many have been following for years, and for many of us can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. If you haven't yet, visit the Elio Motors website, and get an overview of the basis and development of this project. As you might have noticed some of our threads are "quite lengthy", and before you even try to catch up, scan a few that might help you get the "flavor" of why we are here.
There are members here who have EXTENSIVE knowledge and careers in many aspects of the auto industry and the fine details that go into producing the Elio. And then, there are folks like me who are just "along for the ride"- waiting for this soooooo cool machine.
Say "high" to Jimmy when you see him, (my kids live in Seattle) and best of luck in your farming!!

Hi Juney, and welcome!
This is a great place to waste...I mean, spend every waking moment :p. I think it's great that you took the time to research this worthwhile endeavor and have decided to take the next step. :)

Juney, welcome from New Mexico and to the forum, repository of information about the Elio. We are a friendly helpful bunch and try to keep the forum friendly, informative, and entertaining. It is our outlet to help pass time until we take delivery of our Elio's. We look forward to your questions, comments, and opinions. I was born and raised in the Sacramento area and hunted and fished most of the Sierra Nevada's and my parents built cabins near Mt Lassen (Viola and later Shingletown). Miss that part of the country and the fishing but do not miss the California politics or taxes. Welcome again and enjoy both the Elio experience and the journey.

As a new member I want to say hello to everyone. I've been observing this forum for quite some time and decided to sign on, not like me to do so. Seems the driving force is I can't get enough information fast enough so this fills in the voids. Probably will do more reading than writing but enjoy the back and forth exchange.
