My name is Ray--living in Iowa--made the jump tonight for an Elio--figure our country needs to make a stand for sustainability and the concept of Elio fits. Currently ride a KLR 650 lots of fun for an old fart but look forward to a little more stability. I'm a retired commercial pilot that flew helicopters--9000 hours mostly in Alaska, Vietnam, Oregon, Washington, and California. Forest fire fighting seemed the best--back when BLM was the good guys.. Since there is already a poster that signs with Ray----I'll go with Rayl

Hi Rayl and welcome from Oregon. You definitely have come to the right place for a lot of very active interest in Elio. This group is from all over the country and our posts range from the very knowledgable to the ridiculous and just about everything in between. However, I am going to have to give all of you gentlemen a lecture on "old". If you are younger than me, and you are, you are not old because if you are old then so am I. Not going there! Look at it this way, if you think of yourself as old, your are. I don't mean you have to act/dress/play like a teenager. But you need to take a more youthful attitude toward life. The fact that you are considering an Elio means you are at least half way there. So, young man, welcome to the fold. Enjoy the challenges and adventure of this journey to Elio ownership. Next year in our Elios! :-) Z

Thank you everyone. Seems like my bones tell me I'm old--but my mind tells me I'm still young, full of life with a lovely wife.. Hope she doesn't go claustrophobic in the back seat. Hoping for a retro look--convertible.

If nothing else, getting a convertible is a free mod. Just go at speed under an 18 wheeler... but don't expect to convert back :p
