While watching an ad this morning ,this ELIO manufacture started talking about thi three wheeler---- I liked what i saw but have little info.
1. how do I get one
2. Are they on road yet ?
3. If not when?
4.Is this "Reserve one" just to geta t shirt or are we really putting in an order for a Elio?

Hi and welcome from a fellow DFW guy!!

They are not in production yet. THey are set to start rolling out cars around September 2015. A little ways off. They will be using the old GM plant in Shreveport, LA, so not too far from us. The "reserve one" is actually putting in an order for the car. If you do the All In $1000, you get a reservation #. Once they stop taking reservations (as they fill the first years production #'s), all dollor amount reservations will be given a reservation #, the more you put in, the higher in line you will be. Hope, that answers some questions. Feel free to ask all you want,

Frank, welcome. One of the advantages of making a $1000 "all-in" reservation is that you also get a $500 credit toward the purchase of your Elio. It also locks in your position on the production line. That's a 50% return on the reservation and any time I can save $500 on any purchase I am happy. Production is scheduled to begin in September 2015 at an initial rate of 250 per day. Road test drives are not scheduled until next spring after they have completed all the final preproduction testing.

Hi Frank, welcome! A bit more info: the 50% return is true regardless of the amount. If you put in $100, you get an add'l $50 towards the purchase price of the vehicle.

You can do a refundable reservation if you want, or you can do a non-refundable reservation. The non-refundable reservations are first in line, and as Neal said, the more you put down for your deposit, the more "first-in-line" you become.

Actually you are NOT 'placing an order' for an Elio (read the terms of agreement)..... you are just reserving a 'place in line'. The actual "ORDER" will come later when you are provided a "Purchase Contract" (a month or so before they begin construction of YOUR vehicle) and can pick out your 'options', and all fees and expenses are included.

I don't have the exact date at my fingertips but information will be posted in our Elio Events calendar as they become available.
