Just wanted to say hi and say how excited I am about the possibility of having my very own Elio. I will be reserving mine in a few weeks. If I lose my $100 so be it, but I feel it's worth supporting this concept and I'm willing to take a gamble on it.
We need an option like this. Our economy needs this to become a reality. Our wallets need this to happen. This car will have a ripple effect on everything from more individual disposable income, less pollution, less dependency on foreign oil, more jobs for Americans, the list goes on.
Even if this car never makes it to production it will have a positive impact on our future. You can't tell me that the big three auto makers in the US aren't taking notice of all the publicity this is getting. If Elio doesn't produce this vehicle someone else will. It's just a matter of time.
As for production delays, I'm not worried. I work in commercial construction and delays are part of every big venture, especially in something new and "outside of the box". My feelings on this are let him take all the time he needs to do it right.
The one this that will insure this company to fail is to rush out a vehicle that hasn't had all the bugs worked out just to please anxious consumers or to try and create revenue. We've seen it happen with the tesla cars. My thoughts on the vehicle, if it is crap and falls apart in a few years, is I'll have a light weight rolling frame and wheels that I can turn into a fun drag strip project.
Take all the time you need Mr. Elio. We need this to happen, but we need it to be a good product once it's released to the public.
Just my two cents...
