I went all in in July. I am used to pre-ordering and waiting on cars. I waited about a year for my first smart fortwo. (I'm now on my second one) I do love them and they are perfect for city living and parking.

The more I think of it, I really want to go pick my Elio up in Louisiana. I went to College in New Orleans and haven't been back for 20 years.

I believe I have already greeted you so welcome again. Sounds like you have a plan. How do you think the Elio will be for driving in WDC traffic. I have not been back in decades but remember it as being very crowded. In fact I think the last time I was there was for Thanksgiving week in the early 1980s. My how times flies as we grow older and better. LOL :-) Z

they say that about 4500 people are moving to the District every month, and our population is now over 600k which is the highest our population has been in decades. It is a lot more crowded now than when you were here. I live and work in the District so my commute is about 20 minutes on city roads. For years I didn't own a car because you really don't need one living in the District. When smarts were first introduced to the US, I jumped on it. I absolutely love my fortwo. I think it is actually fun to drive and very underrate. I do think the Elio is going to really hurt smart sales in the US.

My late and former in-laws lived in DC so I spent a lot of time there in the mid to late 1960s. It is a fascinating place but I will take my 7,000 population Sutherlin, OR any day. I admire your courage to live in that hectic environment. :-) Z

Welcome to the forum. I think the Elio would be a great commuter. I've never driven a smart. Most of my driving is Interstate. Well, we can all share thoughts waiting for our Elio.
