Hello From Naples Florida

Hey there all, my name is Adam I am from Naples Florida. I am a teacher in the school district here and have loved the Elio since I saw it two years ago. I am about ready to pull the trigger on the 1000 all in... but I keep seeing the negative Nancies all around swaying my decision. Seeing as I am an educator, its a really large decision to place 1000 and gamble it work or not. I know that this is a post that has been EXTREMELY potent here on the forums regarding when, if, how, and all the other questions running through my mind before clicking CHECK OUT in the Elio store. Any advice for a young whipper snapper 28 year old as myself would be awesome

Welcome amwinkle, from a fellow Floridian. "All in" in Homosassa. You have to make your own decision. No one wants to be the person responsible for talking someone into a $1000 loss, if things go South for some unknown reason. Personally, I think everything looks pretty good for this gamble, which is, what it is, regardless of what any enthusiastic reservist on this or any forum will tell you. Most of us have done our homework, and feel pretty confident. If you can't afford the loss, there is always the refundable "want in" catagory. The reward for $1000 "all in", is an additional $500 towards your Elio for the gamble, if you put up your money by Sept 1st. So now the question. Do you feel lucky? Most of us here do.

Hi and welcome from Oregon, Adam and wife. As eddie66 says, no one else can make that decision for you. I read everything I could once I heard about the Elio from my son in January. Interesting enough, I have a reservation even though I am retired and living on a very limited income but my son, who has a job that pays well, does not. I am driving a 1999 Toyota Camry that has over 218,000 miles on it. It has been a very good car but I always have to stop and think whether I can afford to go some place different because of the expense. As a result I rarely get out of my daily, weekly, and monthly rut. I miss being able to take off for a drive just because. Once I made the decision to buy an Elio, I started using my money (including my food stamps) in different ways. I am still getting everything I need but I actually have money left over at the end of the month. Well I did before also but it was usually less than $1. I had to know that if I got an Elio I could afford the payments. Since I have lived without debt for over 10 years this has been a huge decision for me. So think about it. Read as much as you can about the Elio including looking at the responses to some of the naysayers. Some people are only happy when they are miserable and are spreading the misery. I definitely can afford the 1000... its just one of those things that makes me a bit cautious... which has been known to get me in trouble Anyway Thank you for such warm welcomes and wise words.
