Been lurking on this site for a week or so. So far I've learned it's hard to separate the facts from the fiction on both Elio the vehicle and Elio the manufacturer. I like what I've learned so far about the car, not so much about the company.

Hi and welcome from Oregon, skygazer6033. I'm not going to try to change your mind about Elio the manufacturer even though I disagree completely. I have learned there is no converting skeptics. They have to change their own minds. So enjoy the forum and make your own decisions. Life is to be lived and I am living it with a future in my Elio. :-) Z

Welcome to the forum where you will find helpful and friendly (mostly) members. Most of us are fully committed to the Elio and EM. Nothing is perfect and there is no guarantee but we are believers in this vehicle and EM. Use the forum search function to find the answers to most of your concerns. Also go to the Elio Motors website where you will more about the company. The Elio is not for everyone and only you can decide if you want to "take the risk" or if it fits your lifestyle. I can tell you I have all the confidence in EM and fully believe I will be driving my new Elio late next fall. Welcome and enjoy the Elio journey.

Welcome sky. This is a good forum. Give yourself time to sift the info. Also check you tube. You will get a good picture of Paul Elio and Elio Motors. Watch the interview videos that are all over the net also. Again, welcome aboard.

A hearty welcome to you SkyGazer! Tell us the difficulty you see, in separating fact from fiction on the Elio. Would like to get your perspective.

I can see where you are coming from, if a person believes the information on the internet. Especially the Elio Motors Facebook posts... people put comments on there with no possible consequences for being incorrect. It's in a person's best interest to read such comments with a realization that most of it is probably not true.

For example, one person posted today that the U.S. exports 6 million barrels of oil a day. True? I did some research, first article I looked at said that in 2013, the U.S. exported 43.8 million barrels during the entire year. That's 120,000 a day. If you include finished products that are made from crude and then are exported, that number would go up, but I find it hard to believe it goes up from 120,000 a day to 6 million a day.

Anyhoo, welcome! :D

Pehaps you misunderstood my post. I'm not skeptic just cautious. The design is very similar to one of my designs from 20 years ago although my design utilized a 3 cylinder Yanmar diese
