Elio Addict
Went all-in a couple days ago, planning to offload as much of my 20k mile/year commute as possible from my Subaru to the Elio to save some money on gas.
I currently hit about 88% of my car's stated highway MPG during my commute (32MPG) on average, so assuming the same on the Elio target MPG (74.6) and the current national gas price of 3.52/gal I should be able to save close to $1400/year. I guess we'll have to see what insurance figures look like... Here's hoping it's on par with motorcycle insurance.
At that rate, assuming a base model at 6800 plus tax, delivery charge etc. I'm assuming it's going to be a minimum 8k off the lot, which would mean breaking even after around 6 years.
Guess you can't put a price on the fun factor, though!
