I have been following Elio Motors since 1/7/2013 when I was doing a search for a gas sipping car. I started my ownership of vehicles first with a motorcycle in 1978 and changed to a VW Ladybug in 1980. I have always been a fan of small cars but got away from them when we started a family. Now in my 50's I still have one child in High School. I figure she can ride in the back!
I don't think with an Elio I will be telling her that "I can't afford to run her around!" I will probably be saying Let's GO...I am having so much fun planning for my new Elio. I picture myself driving to work, and causing accidents from the heads turning! Oh yes I can see it now. I have an Orange Chevy HHR 2006 model. I was the first to get one in our town in 2008. There was only one other HHR and they came into town from Florida. Now there are HHR's everywhere. I can't wait to see how many Elios come to town after mine shows up.
I thought I might put something over the moniker so people would have to look in the autocycle to find out what it is.[Broken External Image]

Welcome fellow Georgian! :)

Linda, We are very glad to have you here. It is great that you are so very interested in this vehicle and have been following along with the developments for quite a while now. Many of us are just like you and just can't wait to be the first in our areas to drive around in this very unique vehicle then see how they increase in numbers over time.

You have joined a very diverse group of people from all over the country who really enjoy discussing everything there is to know about this interesting vehicle. I hope you enjoy your time here reading about and/or discussing all there is to know about Elio Motors.

We have a survey we like reservation holders to fill out if they wish as it really helps us visualize the growing numbers and locations of future Elio Owners. For now information visit this link: http://www.elioowners.com/threads/elio-reservation-map-and-survey.1129/

We also have a thread for our many current and former service members to introduce themselves. If that applies to you visit this thread: http://www.elioowners.com/threads/military-service.1118/

If you ever happen to have any issues while on this forum please be sure to notify a staff member as we are here to help.

Hello Linda, and welcome. We drove through Valdosta earlier this month going from Waycross to the I-10 on our way back to San Diego. We only got 36mpg on that trip. Now in the past we would think 36 was great, but in the future we will be looking at 84 mpg. Maybe sometime in a year or two there will be another Elio driving through town...

Linda, welcome to the Elio family and I agree with you about people being excited about the Elio. You may have difficulty in keeping your daughter from wanting to take your Elio out for a spin. Hope you will get involved in the forum and we look forward to your comments and contributions. Welcome to the Elio journey and hope you find the experience enjoyable and rewarding.

Hi and welcome from Oregon, Linda. I hope this forum gives you as much pleasure as it does me. However, about the daughter? You might want to suggest she start saving for her own Elio because once she sees it, she is so going to want one. LOL Enjoy this exciting and historical journey to Elio production and ownership. We'll meet you next year in our 2015 Elios. :-) Z

My daughter has watched my fascination with the Elio from the start. She wants my Chevy HHR.
