On a side note, we have been sticking it to the Gas man for almost one year, since Sept 6, with the Nissan Leaf Electric Vehicle. So far we have almost 13,000 miles on it and expect to have the full 15,000 by the end of year one, which is what our lease allows for.

13,000 miles divided by average gas mileage of 25 mpg gives us 520 gallons saved times $4 per gallon equals $2,080 that did not go to the gas man. Instead we used about $0.025 per mile in electricity from the other man (13,000 X 0.025 = $325), but sold back to him electricity generated from our own solar system for a net almost zero (and we also have central air/heat). Life is sweet. Still looking forward to the Elio for our longer trips and my daily driver (my wife gets the leaf for her commute, but she lets me drive it when we are together for most of our mileage.
