Hello everyone,

I went all in about 20 minutes before the 50% deadline on Monday night, I actually went to bed and couldn't sleep until I got back up and pulled the trigger (err pressed the button). I just figured it will be time to replace my 01 Honda Insight M/T gas guzzler by the time they are in production. The Elio should increase my gas mileage from 55-60 mpg to somewhere around 80-90. I cant wait to try some of the techniques I have learned with the Honda to increase gas mileage, I have gotten as high as 73 mpg when trying.


I hope there will be a luggage/storage accessory, like panniers or something that will allow additional storage on the outside (wind tunneled saddlebag/trunk rear tire skirt) so I can haul a tent and some camping supplies to Alaska. I would like to be the first to make the trip in an Elio but I guess that will depend on my delivery date.

Hi and welcome from Oregon, Matt. You will be hard pressed to be the first to drive an Elio to Alaska since there are all in reservation holders who live in Alaska in front of you. Of course I hope you won't let that stop you from enjoying your trip. One member is planning on getting a second windshield to take on the trip because the roads are so bad. I'm not sure how he is planning on doing that - the taking not the buying. LOL I hope you enjoy this exciting journey to Elio production and ownership. :-) Z
