Hello all,
Name's Kevin, and I've got a 84 mile round trip to and from work (Boeing St. Louis). I went 'all in' for 1K and can't wait to get my hands on a new Elio. By my calculations, the Elio will pay for itself in 2 years in gas savings, after that, it's MONEY IN THE BANK!
Hi and welcome from Oregon, Kevin. Do you have your number yet? The other big question around here is - have you seen it in person? My answers are no and yes. It is very exciting to follow the Elio but even more exciting once you actually see it, touch it and sit in it. I can't wait to drive it. You have joined a very diverse and interesting group of Elio enthusiasts. I hope you will enjoy reading, discussing, being creative with others following Elio dreams. It is a thrilling adventure. 2015 Elios here we come! :-) Z

Don't have a number yet...went "All-In" for 1k about a week or so ago, and missed it (hell, didn't know about it) when it came through St. Louis. I liked the Elio the first time I saw it in the snow video by accident. Started researching it, and the more I looked into it, the more I liked it...GOTTA HAVE ONE! Work at the same place (Boeing F-15 center fuselage), and live at the same house for 26 years now...I'm pretty sure I don't want to do the math on how much gas I've spent over the years going back and forth. That's about to change next year!

Kevin, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your a $1k reservation. Waiting to get your number may seem like a long time but the Elio journey is all about patience. Next year at this time we will all be anxious for production to start and for us to begin to enjoy the savings from driving our Elio's.

Welcome Kevin/NSTG8R, glad you took the leap, though it sounds like you're convinced the leap was very short!

Just occurred to me the other day... I don't have a long commute, so that's not my primary reason why I've reserved an Elio. I lived in Denver metro area for 15 years, and for a few years my commute was 50 minutes one way. Probably got 30 mpg in a small 2-wheel drive Toyota pickup back then... but still!! LOL

Anyhoo, my primary reason for reserving this car, is that I'm tired of oil companies being the most profitable companies on the planet, and someone somewhere decides the price of gas is too low, so let's bump it up some. Figured I'd do my part to reduce demand and consumption a bit. :D

Again, welcome, enjoy the ride and the discussions here!

I have exactly 84miles too. And I'm all in for 1k. And I used to work for Boeing in Washington State. And of course, I can't wait either! You aren't from a parallel universe are you? lol.

Parallel Universe? Possibly! Knowing a great deal on a unique vehicle when we see one. Absolutely!
