2005 Sunfire...replaced Control Arms/ball Joints...

All day affair. But i did it outside in the melting snow and ice. The old ball joints were super loose. The arms while not rusted were hard to put in and take out.

$80 cost for parts.

Major savings versus a garage. And no power tools involved.

Major ride difference.

I did used aluminum lower control arms + sub-frames and left front axle,on a high mileage 2003 Subaru Forester.
Took Me a couple of weeks,due to rusty and broken bolts and part orders.
Lucky I had a garage and no hurry to get back on the road(late summer).
I saved the $105.00/hour labor rate and got the satisfaction of a job well done.
Got to love retirement!

Every time I work on any of my vehicles, I take 1/2 the labor charge If it had been paid to a dealer or repair facility and put it in my savings. It sure adds up. Even on just oil changes etc.
