Going electric is a smart move for Elio.
The 1.0 liter 3-cylinder gasoline engine made by Mercedes Benz had serious design flaw in the manufacturing process which would lead to inevitable mechanical failure in a short period of time. The problem was with the coating on the cylynder walls...

How long have you been waiting?
Yes, Paul Elio made some crucial errors years ago. First, he should have picked an off-the-shelf engine for production, instead of designing a new engine. Second, he could have offered the Elio as a kit. He could have started limited production of Elio kits...
Elio should offer kits. Ford makes a 1-liter 3 cylinder DOHC engine that boasts 123 HP and 148 foot-pounds of torque.
In the Elio cyclecar platform this engine should get close to 65 or 70 mpg, I would guess.

I finally retired my Elio shirt. It developed holes and was looking kinda ratty. So now it's used for cleaning.
And the bumper sticker hardened from year's exposure to the sun's UV and countless washings. So I removed it.
That's it for Elio. :rip:

This is an excellent way tow any front-wheel-drive autocycle, assuming that the vehicle is to be towed a few times/yr.
With dolly-towing, the rear tire will be subject to the same tread wear as if it were being driven.
The Navy has been under a lot of pressure lately. They are being put in situations where mishaps and mayhem become not only a possibility, but a probability. Under normal conditions, US warships will steer clear of busy shipping lanes. But as of January 21st, US Naval operations have been...
Over a year ago, I promised myself that I wouldn't become delusional about the prospects of EM actually starting production of the autocycles. I was still hopeful, but not delusional. (There's a difference) But EM was running into snafus/roadblocks/setbacks on a daily basis, it seemed.

It's very important to have a "brick-and-mortar" address for any corporation. You dont want to be CEO of a corporation with a P.O. Box as an address! That would blow the cover, and drive away investors.
