So I said I would check back in July....I assume they are available and I can take delivery now...right? (LOL)
I read they are hand building 25 units for crash testing. Any other testing?
I read they plan to build 100 units to give to someone for fleet vehicles...are these going to Roush...
It was in early 2015 that I logged back onto this site after a long hiatus, to see how close Elio was to production. At that point things were delayed yet again and production was going nowhere fast, but t-shirt sales seemed brisk....
So my (Feb 2016) questions are: What's the...
Well, from what I read here, it sounds like, (unless I missed something) not much is happening at the plant at this time and that only one person has been hired. Can anyone add anything?
My current thought - I want a reverse trike enough that I have been contemplating building my own along...
I am amazed anyone could misrepresent what I asked and think I was using sarcasm.
All I asked was for current information, about the plant or elsewhere, that would show if Elio was gearing up for production. Why?, Because it will take them 12-18 months to build out the plant and if there are...
I started this thread specifically to ask for concrete information relating to production progress of the Elio. I have never said anywhere, in any post, ever, that I don't like the Elio.
Thank you to those who honestly tried to provide positive and constructive insight.
I think the Elio is a cool idea and I will own an Elio...if and when they are ever built.
Unfortunately, the fact is, nobody on this site owns an Elio. They own t-shirt(s) and a reservation number. Everyone wants to own the vehicle. So I am here simply to find out if there is any production...
I decided to wait to see if they ever get built. If they do, then I'll wave as everyone drives by and feel sorry for myself.
BTW - I speculate that there are 100's of thousands of others like me who want to buy it but are unwilling to gamble on Elio, without Elio actually promising to deliver.
I hope Elio builds the vehicle, but my sense is that it is just Paul Elio's dream just to "design" the car, but not his dream to produce it. If he wanted it produced, it would already be in production, even if on a limited scale while he revised it to the next version.
Non speculation fact - Last spring, I asked a relative (who worked very closely with Takata) to ask the Takata reps what they knew about Elio production progress. The reps said they had talked to Elio early on, but had not talked to Elio in years.
I saw the P4 on May 15, 2013 and was told...
I am actually surprised, that you are surprised that anyone would ask questions and for "proof" about what progress (if any) that Elio has made towards getting into production, especially after Elio has been continually changing their story about delivery dates and has been doing this for over 8...
Thanks... Sounds like there is no visible / factual / production progress happening at this time.
Think I'll build my own and sell them as kits...it will be faster.
I've gone from this website for a long time. It was intentional. I stayed away from here and other Elio sites because I became a doubter.
I'd like to be a believer again, but I need proof. I need real information about actual Elio production.
Has anything changed? Is there a running...
Have you guys seen Ford's street driven Formula race car with the turbocharged Ecoboost engine? It can run all day at 70 mph and get 50 mpg. Top speed is around 160, 0 to 60 in 4 seconds and 118 mpg at 35mph.
I think we should not discount modern watches and what they can do theses days...so with that in mind, there should be even more digital and extra gauges for trans temp, wind speed, knots per hour, of course have it all read in metric so only kilometers per hour, color changing LED bulbs, two...
