My experience with customizing a vehicle begins with having the vehicle to examine & go from there. Somebody has to build it first.

I've only got $100 bet on getting an Elio (#26620) but if they could just get a rolling vehicle built & offer different engine options for it it might interest more potential buyers or investors. Many existing front wheel drive gas, hybrid or electric powertrains could bolt right in.

I still want to buy an Elio but the new Honda Rebel 500 should be available by late April. If I sit and it fits I'm ridin' home.

My 05 Kia has an Aisin 5 spd. auto w/ the sport shift, it still takes 1- 1/2 seconds to shift. Not as bad as the powerglide in my old 69 chevy tho!
