Really there was a time when the big 3 would put any engine, brake package, interior in a vehicle that was ordered - what would be the difference ? There's a potential for the additional price (it could raise) sales..
So everybody has presented ideas on what they want to do with their Elio - amazing from mechanical, interior, exterior paint etc.
So would you prefer to be able to buy for an example an unpainted Elio so you could get it painted the exact color you wanted or would you like Elio to have some...
I BLAME US.. !! I'm sure Elio cruises the forums and listens to all the ideas & plans... Then comes the term marketing, it's not about the initial cost it's about Americans like to be different and that's where the starting price...
Sort of like a Harley, people pay money and then accessorize...
My thought was when I'm going straight then I get what's behind me, however whenever I turn (in any vehicle) I'm not looking into the the mirrors I'm looking into the turn cause that's the direction the car is going... Since the Elio is classified as a motorcycle the turn shouldn't be an issue...
"You can’t talk head gasket without talking water pump – a.k.a. the other thing that ruins your life for a few days if it ever fails on you. Elio said the water pump for the three-cylinder engine has been designed with a lower flow rate and will use curved-vane impellers, making the pump slower...
Ok just had this crazy thought but wondered about the rear view mirrors. I thought about style, shape, and location.
Eventually I thought I'd like the rear view mirrors on the fenders with something of the retro classic kind of feel. Something with the late 30's to early 40's feel...
Has...
Ok I finally thought about "how to comment" - best configuration.. Wow another "bumble bee effect"... Two wheels pulling utilizing the same HP/TQ as one wheel pushing - this is simple - two wheels get better traction - yet somewhat slower and fuel efficient issues are at hand.... But Elio...
Then you definetly need the new vintage 1940 military series gauges
http://www.newvintageusa.com/images/40254-01.jpg
and a elio skin like with a military helo theme...
Heck I wouldn't mind if I had a sealed rubber floor and a drain plug so I could use a garden hose to was it out.. At the cost of the elio I could purchase a nice elio for the "and and" vehicle..
You are right in some aspects. I own (my high school car - monkey on my back) a 1969 Mustang Mach I - Suspension has been changed to coil over and four link with panhard bar in the rear - engine followed currently a little over 600hp and 588ft pounds of torque.. bottom line I'm getting 20 mpg...
The HUGO ok Yugo was a Fiat built in Yugoslavia (which the Russians somehow messed up..) My friend Fiat at one time was the parent company of many manufacturers like Ferrari.. Elio has to get something to market first, the big 3 have hurt many of small time inventors..
Zombies getting old... Are You kidding I see them everyday driving cars !! Elio would be quiet - Zombies are attracted to noise, If a person had night vision goggles then night time travel would be cool (keep em' charged up through the usb port) during cold weather the elio will still be the...
To answer the question - Yes there is a Pep Boys, however I'd rather change the oil myself. I'm not wanting to put anyone "down" but I prefer service a little better.
What I'd like to see is Elio have a drive through service (one or two bays) that an individual that isn't mechanically inclined...
Previously in the thread imageon posted a picture of a Yugo,
When I was stationed in South Australia there was this girl in town that owned a Yugo, she was constantly having problems with that thing. A bunch of "gear heads" got together and knew of a Holden Gemini that had been once used for as...
