    Exterior Body Options

The out the door price tag and mpg rating seems good enough to me keeping the cost down without one. I do think a belly pan would gain a few extra mpg out of it. If one showed up on the aftermarket as an add on I would look into buying one.

    Hit A Deer

We should all look at Indy car crashes over the past ten years. Many races had have crashes that look unsurvivable yet drivers walk away? True fact that simple space saving designs can protect people in crashes. I guess that all those science experiments we all had as kids to not break the...

    Ditch The 3 Cylinder?

I do like the idea of Elio basing their design on a proven engine. As with all equipment ever made there is always room for improvement. I would not care for the drivetrain if Elio either just took off the shelf parts or just designed them from the ground up. I think it a smart move taking...

    Ditch The 3 Cylinder?

The A/C clutch randomly kicking on and off brings up a good point on power needs. I now drive a car with plenty of power and a 5 speed. There is still a noticeable difference in the power to the wheels when accelerating. The air conditioner pump on my current car I would guess robs around 15hp...

Options And Upgrades, Cruise Control, Etc...

Cruse control seems a great option. I would put this in the top 5 for the way most people will need to drive this. I wouldn't mind paying and extra $70ish from the factory or as a DIY aftermarket kit.

Options And Upgrades, Cruise Control, Etc...

Looking for suggestions on this post about the communities take on options wanted. Some serious or just for the LOL's. I think it would be fun to hear some ideas whether serious or not. Cruse control, ABS, A/C, back up cams? Remember they all add weight and cost MPG's. Maybe you want shag...

    Front Grill Opening Modification

I would guess that if this car catches on hundreds of aftermarket bolt on options will be available including grills, body kits, and options. After the release of the car I give Ebay 2 weeks until one could be built from scratch with nothing but listed aftermarket parts.

    Elio Turbo

So basically the point of caring for turbos don't turn off the engine for a while after it just had made boost I.E. got hot. Only takes one time to have a turbo red hot then loose the oil supply to cease them up some times. I had a turbo car once and was toying with the idea of installing an...

    Elio Turbo

In 2013 I was really looking into buying one of those "Dodgy Farts" with the multi air 1.4 turbo. The N/A version got a rated 33mpg with the 2.4. The smaller 1.4 turbo actually managed 39mpg or 41mpg if you get the aero package and out performed the non turbo in all areas torque, horsepower...

Quick Poll. Yes, Another Poll. This One About Transmissions.

Absolutely agree with carzes. The one thing wrong with cars these days is no one can work on them without ten thousand dollars in special tools for just one make and model year of car. I nearly bought a Lotus at great price until I found an oil change required the engine be removed and so at...

    Elio Turbo

I have seen many posts about turbo charging one of these. Just thought I would start my own thread. The theory of turbo charging is to increase the engines power output by sacrificing MPG dramatically when in need. I am not against this for short demands up to 15 seconds at a time. Many 4...

Quick Poll. Yes, Another Poll. This One About Transmissions.

Great question, I prefer driving a manual trans for having a more hands on feel for the both the road and the machine. I like to keep my hand busy with driving and nothing else. No cell phone texting, touch screen dash board interface, or GPS, As far as I'm concerned you should have already set...

    Ditch The 3 Cylinder?

Seen some comments about the so called "metro 3 cylinder" causing vibrations like having a dead cylinder. Just to clear some issues 1 cylinder, 3,5 7, or anything else does not matter in the case of rough running or concerns for vibration. It is all down to the crankshaft design. There is 360...

    Rolling Chassie Elio?

So, I have worked in an automotive body shop some 15 years ago. When a vehicle gets into an accident the insurance company takes the cars blue book value figures into the mileage and age and all that. They come up with a figure. If the cost to repair the car is over 80% of the value the...

Should Elio Offer An Ecu Tuned For Higher Hp?

Fear is not an option in my home town for power. Where I live in Pittsburgh we have some sharp hair pin turns then steep uphill onramps to highways. My case in point is my 2004 sonata with a 5 speed pealing tire drifting through a turn at red line could only manage to get up to 65ish on an...

Should Elio Offer An Ecu Tuned For Higher Hp?

I wouldn't expect any options for the first couple of years of production. Other cars have used this method for years via a button on the dash that switches between economy mode, sport mode, and hold onto your shorts mode. LOL. I think this is an extant idea and should be included as an option...

Hi, I have just joined here and if this question was already covered somewhere in the forum sorry for asking. I was wondering if any members here are employees of Elio. Also I would assume employees of Elio at least read this forum for researching feedback and suggestions posted here. Can...
