Saw this on Youtube, because it was listed as Part 2 of his discussion on Tesla's Battery Day and he pivoted in the middle towards his company's work with various three-wheel upstarts; Acrimoto, Aptera and Nobe.

Interesting points he makes, which call back to a lot of what Elio was trying to do... so while Elio might be dead, Munro wants three-wheelers to take off.

And in case you don't know who he is, he owns Munro and Associates, who does engineering work on cars, planes, and has become known for his tear-down videos of Teslas and other cars.

Here's the link to his Youtube video.

I have seen his videos about Tesla and they are good.
I hope he is not anti-ICE (internal Combustion Engines) vehicles.
I would like to know what he thinks of the Elio vehicle.

I have wondered if the Elio design could be modified to make it an EV. That may be the only way it could get funding. Too bad they can not lease the GM Ultium battery design. It seems flexible. Of course electric systems are vehicles are in their infancy. In the future, they will probably be more available for small vehicle start-ups like Elio, than gas engines are.

The Elio couldn't get funded even if it was EV now. It's management is incompetent, having already spent 190M$ with nothing to show for it, not even a single road worthy prototype. It's now obsolete and looks like a cheap kit car. Tandem seating, especially with a claustrophobic, unpadded rear seat, has no appeal in the current market.

Sandy Munro is now heavily involved in designing the electric APTERA factory. Aptera has spent less than 2M$ and has production prototypes running and over 4000 sales averaging $35,000 and a range up to 1000 miles. People are willing to pay for quality.

The Aptera looks nice and is very Elio looking. Love the idea of the sun helping charge it (But a tad skeptical the sun will do as much as they claim with the different solar options). But the price is the down side. With that price one could by a cyber truck (soon), model 3, etc.
