BTW: Page 5 of Manual:

"Street Legal
Your AEV 311 meets all legal
requirements and is equipped for
use on all public roads"

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1517567/Aev-311.html?page=5#manual

I guess you saw this on page 7:

Operate this vehicle only on public or private roads where speed limits are appropriate. Be familiar with
motor vehicle laws in your area of operation. Do not operate this vehicle in situations where it could
become an obstacle or an annoyance for faster-moving traffic.

Science & technology has NOT advanced enough to actually read the minds of other motorists! :D

Well they should have a 2nd part by now (a "controller"). I am now approaching 2 months since my initial 4 mile ride and subsequent breakdown.

Latest update: The shop installed the new controller, and it works, but not 100%!!! They believes that the controller just needs to be reprogrammed for the vehicle. I suspect it is actually programmed for the 411 box truck, a much higher production and successful commercial mini box truck, which has exact same motor, but is governed to 25 MPH.

In the meantime, talking with the factory in Austin, they've discontinued making the 311!!!

So they had a very short production run in 2018 and 2019. So I pretty much have a custom vehicle!

The good news, is the the 311 and 411 likely have all the same power train and electronic components, so I (hopefully) should not be out of luck if I have a future breakdown.

The 411:

Does that now mean you only have a 25 MPH top speed until you find someone to reprogram the controller?
Who is gonna reprogram the controller?

The company didn't fail at all. They just quit making the 311. Maybe someday they'll be able to bring one back.
It is out of the three wheeler business. So might as well be out of business then. All they make are maintenance grounds equipment now. Sad to see them done with three wheelers and no plan for the future. I’m wondering if FUV forced them out with their lawsuit against Aryo. Must be because three wheelers are the next big thing and now you have to play nasty to keep your business. Hopefully they don’t go after Elio.

What happens when it breaks down again? Seems to me like it’s a throwaway.

I get it fixed under warranty, and hopefully like is historically the case, bugs are worked out during warranty period. After that, parts for the 411 should be interchangeable and available for the 311.

After all, 311 means 3 wheeler & 11 HP, and 411 means 4 wheeler & 11 HP, so much in common.
