Site is still down. The options as to why are not good ones.
1. No one at Elio has noticed.
2. No one at Elio cares.
3. Can't pay the hosting bill.
4. Elio Motors is all but done.

They are still paying for them weekly reports about holidays and depreciation. So i'm betting it being down is just a glitch. I don't think it takes much to keep a low volume site up. Plus that's how they get new reservations.

Has anyone tried the phone number? Facebook site had a negative comment get through with out removal. Maybe the same person does both sites and is on holidays

There are as dead as their website, we can only hope for a quick resurrection

Don't think that they have had a new reservation in months.

It would be interesting to hear from the last one, or the last 10, and see how much research they put into their decision, or if it was pure ‘emotion.’ Many of us have been on this train for close to a decade so we experienced many of the derailments and rerouting. My feeling is that the great majority of interest was from older people, less prone to deeper internet searching who had higher disposable incomes. Maybe more vicarious ‘motorcycle’ types.... recapturing their younger days.... I’m not so sure pure urban utility was ever a big reason. Hmmmm, maybe the DoE saw that too?

In my opinion, the Elio has only one true similarity to a bike. You don’t have a passenger sitting beside you. That’s about it - regarding similarities.

It’s a car. A smartly, reconfigured car. AND if ever built - is suppose to get approx 84mpg yet cost only around $7,500 base. You can’t even get a bike with those two points....

I know, I know.... the Elio can’t be built for $7,500. Maybe it’s true, that price doesn’t allow enough profit. But in my books, cars and bikes are way overpriced these days. Too much “stuff and fluff”.... and you certainly pay for it.

Nope.... I want an affordable 84mpg.... (and would be fun driving it).

The ELIO was going to be a KISS type vehicle. I don' t know of any Mfgs. using that concept right now.

There are many on this site that write they believe the reason there are no Elio financial announcements is due to SEC regulation.
The Elio Motors site being down may assist in them in grasping reality.

Looking for the manufacturer of a KISS type vehicle that is affordable, 240 MPGe, feels like riding the motorcycle it is, FUN in it’s name, open/partially/fully enclosed, three wheeler alternative? GO ARCIMOTO FUV. Frankly, long time retiring bikers might like the handlebar steering and open road feel. It’s a stable, quick, and nimble blast to ride. Try it, you just might like it as an Elio alternative.
