I read a few articles that discussed the possibility of an Ohio assembly plant and an affirmation regarding the 2019 production timeline. I understand that they have been down this road before, but does anyone know if there are currently prototypes being driven around as testing units or is this the proverbial cart before the horse. I would imagine that the process of bringing a new car to market includes prototypes being driven on tracks and on public roads for an amount of time before production. Even if they were to secure a plant with all the tooling, do they have a design that would be ready to produce? Does anyone have any recent pictures of one in the wild?

The Elio has been spotted in Memphis, Michigan and St. Louis for testing.

Its right on the Elio website.
You must be referring to the photo evidence in the Gallery section of the black E1c parked in the foreground of the Gateway Arch. Those shots weren't as much "testing" as it was a pit stop during a cross-country road trip. If I'm not mistaken, that was originally taken when the Tour Team was hauling the E1c from Metro Detroit out to California for the LA Auto Show (November 2016) where they first publicly revealed the black E1c test mule.

It'd be a far stretch to claim the E1c had been spotted "testing" in St. Louis. The Tour Team needed to refuel, use the restroom, and grab a meal, and figured the photo opportunity was worth pulling the E1c out of the trailer briefly before getting back on the highway.

I don't mean to be a Debbie-downer, but at first I thought you had details on more recent public sightings of an Elio on the streets. If that were the case, I'd certainly be interested. Especially if it happened to feature new body panels, adapted power train, rerouted exhaust, battery relocation, opposite gas filler routing, etc ...

FWIW, I live in Livonia, Michigan, presumably where the Elio vehicles are garaged someplace. I used to do random drive-by's past Technosports Creative hoping to catch a glimpse of anything Elio. The Roush campus is <10 minutes from my house. And I have yet to bare witness to an Elio on public roads.

They probably have it in one of disguises so it looks like an F-150... LOL

From time to time, I check out the forum. Last visit must be at least half a year ago. It feels like the whole Elio thing has turned into some sort of time bubble. Life is whizzing by, while Elio seems suspended in Einstein's time-space, all tranquil and all that.

Yup... and we are all stuck in that same limbo in regards to Elio while our lives keep on keeping on. I moved from Minot, ND to Albuquerque, NM to Papillion, NE since I put in my first deposit. the 40 mile/day commute in Albuquerque made sense to have an Elio as an extra car but now that my commute is about 6 miles, not so much anymore. Still, it would let me park my Truck for most of the year which would save me from having to replace it as soon. But, alas, no timeline for production, no real path for funding, and not much going on... sigh... yet, we persist.

Life continues on. Times change, peoples tastes change and it gets to the point where Elio is like in an episode of Star Trek where they were stuck in a continuous loop and it took them a while to figure out how to get out of it. Like all shows, it started and was solved in 50 minutes. A perfect Hollywood ending.
