It's funnier if you think of it as meaning they build cars that have approximately three wheels. 
No matter how you flip it around, the word approximately did not fit; I wonder what he really meant?

I go for just "a" and blame the rest on autoincorrect. I'm forever having to edit my posts after seeing what is posted verses what I actually typed. Many times, it doesn't even make sense.
