Elio Stores Delayed Till 2017

interesting but no surprise .... they have consistently said that they would be in full production prior to getting their dealer network going .... with production slated to begin in mid 2016, having the stores open in 2017 makes sense

Nothing new. The first three to four years they will be working their way to full production level, part of that will entail building out their distribution/showroom network.

I think this is the right decision. I always thought it was biting off more than they could chew to plan to roll out stores before getting a bunch of cars on the street. Makes more sense to me to concentrate on getting this thing built. I take this to mean some reality is setting-in, which is a good thing.

Then I guess you would agree that EM made the right decision long ago and has been realistic in their planning all along as being able to delay having to deal with the retail stores until after production is under way has been one of the stated advantages to the vehicle reservation program all along.

The fact is that EM has always planned on producing and delivering vehicles to reservations holders long before retail stores were open and this 'news' is simply confirmation that with production being pushed back so will the opening of retail stores.

If you don't have retail store, I wonder where would you pick up your Elio when it ship to your nearest city? I am not sure retail store or Elio Retail Center is the same thing.?o_O
