Not that anyone cares, but I've been emotionally out since the 25 engineering vehicles never materialized from investor money.

Of all the woulda, coulda, shoulda's that everyone goes on about here, one thing seemed certain, the investment money was raised, a clear concise goal was stated, the company had to make legally binding statements to SEC, and Elio still couldn't come close to meeting the goal. There should have been no problem to make the 25 vehicles as described for the money raised.

I can agree with excuses about why everything else with this venture is so difficult. Some think Paul is a scam artist, I think he really doesn't know what he is doing and therefore thinks success is just around the corner. I think we're maybe at 6, 7, or 8 of the "fool me once, shame on you, fool me x times shame on me.

I really don't like to read such negative discourse, however, I cannot think of any logical rebuff. I continue to believe in a positive outcome, but it is more on faith than fact. So, hang on if you can. I will be there at the finish. We will either celebrate with hot dogs or prime rib. Either way we get stress relief.:D

I have often wondered about that, too.

These are my thoughts about the previous.
The Elio project is a huge project and Paul and the Elio board may not have not anticipated some of the pitfalls.
Livonia, MI is a hand assembly place, thus it was never really meant to be the place where the engineering series would be completed.
I am certain that Elio would love to be stamping out a bunch of E Elio's in Shreveport right now, but it would have meant a great expenditure that was probably beyond what was ever had in funding.
This is not a normal start up company. I do not think anything like the Elio project has been tried in many many decades. To make things more difficult, Elio was not started by some billionaires club, that is why we are where we are. Looking for funding to get to completion.

I can still remember, right after the crowdfunding, when pictures of the team that was to assemble the 25 E-series vehicles were published.
I still think JNR's post and Rob's resonse were right on point and speak to the underlying heart of the entire matter.

Boo Boo, I think that you are right on! I think all the negativity is because no one knows what Paul Elio is going through! And what hoops that he has jumped through to get the Elio this far. I for one will be here until the end or I die, which ever comes first.

I remember the pictures of the management team, and touring team. I do not recall ever seeing a picture of Elio wrenchmonkees, except this one.

I have often wondered about that, too.
After they announced the 25 model build run, they had some engineering assistance come in via RedDot and Roush. They also switched to a unibody and then to steel body panels. Those changes weren't cheap, I'd bet and it doesn't make sense to continue making the 25 vehicles that they had planned. I mean, should they have spent the money making the 25 vehicles that would be unusable for any real engineering things or should they have stopped producing vehicles using the no-longer used design? I think they made the right call though it's obviously unpopular to the "I want it now" crowd.

Basically, instead of building 25 models that can't be used, they spent the money on engineering, designing the new frame, body panels, brakes, Air conditioning/defrost, suspension tuning, traction control, and a much needed hemorrhoidectomy! ;)
