I think what he will save on gas tax will be way more then off set by repair cost for tires and suspension parts. I here the roads are not the best. JMO
You got that right. Tires, shocks, struts and front end alignment aside, I replaced 5 windshields (2 on the same car) since I moved to NJ.

Dunno about "most" but California registration fees are tied to the value of the car. Brand new Mercedes? Arm and a leg. 20 year old Chevy? Dirt cheap.
One more reason to be rich and Gone.

From what I can figure, it will cost around $49 bucks for your Elio in SoCal.
All cars and motorcycles are the same.

I feel your pain. Most places are not this intense and no matter what Paul Elio says nothing like this will get changed until the different localities see the need.

At 3 days I'm guessing this is about fleecing people out of money and not safety.
I took the Beginner's GA MC Safety Course after having ridden for more than 30 years. It was all about safety. I learned many new things and discovered numerous things that I'd been doing wrong. It definitely made me a better/safer motorcyclist. It also made me me a safer automobile driver. Definitely worth every penny.

When the first Elio's hit the streets, the outcry from folks who want one but aren't willing to get a MC endorsement, will motivate the lawmakers to make appropriate changes, post haste.

Pretty much the same in KS. My Ex, may she rest in peace. and her daughter wanted to get their endorsements quite a few years ago, so I tagged along. If it does nothing else it will make you a safer and more aware automobile driver.

I'm certain MC licensing requirements are all about safety.........personal safety as a motorcyclist and I agree that it should be mandatory........just not mandatory for an enclosed cabin motorcycle with seat belt restraints, airbags, and a reinforced safety roll cage and drives exactly like a car with no special skills required.
