If you want reality try doing your poll this way......

How much extra if at all would you pay for different instruments
  1. Nothing. OK as is.
  2. Up to $300
  3. Up to $600
  4. Up to $900
  5. Up to $1200
  6. Over $1200
That says put you money where your mouth is.
No, beyond the "Nothing. OK as is." slot which is already basically included in the two existing polls...
The results of this one would more indicate how much total disposable income I have as compared to others than anything else.

You've conveniently forgotton to include "Nothing. I absolutely hate it, but can't afford options 2 thru 6."
I seem to remember that part of Elio's credo used to be giving the people what they want at an affordable price.

Of course, my interpretation and memory may not be all that accurate.
I may have projected my preferences onto what I remember and may have then rationalized it to support those preferences.
Then again, it may be that it was Elio's verbage that proved to, on several occasions, not be all that accurate.

Again, you've resorted to a diversion maneuver (another yawn).

And what in the world is this mature, irrelevant and recurring 'Prove it by doing this!' thing with you?

Here we go again with someone clearly in a minority claiming to actually be in a majority based on some mysterious reason or other.

To me, the definition of a squeaky wheel is someone in a minority who is just not very darn happy about it.
But yeah, that's just another opinion based on my experience and my lifelong desire to always see things as they really are.
It does, however, make perfect sense to call a very small and vocal group who try to explain themselves into being a majority "squeaky wheels".
Giving a little support to this wildly crazy theory... history has never called a discontented majority a bunch of "squeaky wheels."

POLLS = FACTS. They speak for themselves. No more, no less. Right there in front of you. Get over it and try to stay in the real world.

Bravely speaking for all those poor unrepresented people by saying,
"Everybody else, the majority, doesn't think it's worth the time/effort (aka - are okay with the status quo) to make noise..."
Is totally unsupported, and wildly biased, presumption and speculation.

You're blindly speaking for others to support your own preference without having any basis for doing so what-so-ever.

Seems that there's been a lot of that going on here (yawn).

Some probably still wonder why in the world I use the terms rationalization and kool-aid loosely in these posts.
I cannot believe all the dung being slung. Really?

IMO, which I began my statement with, stands for "In My Opinion", just in case you weren't aware. Here's the definition of "opinion" just in case you're unclear on that also:

1. Opinion, sentiment, view are terms for one's conclusion about something. An opinion is a belief or judgment that falls short of absolute conviction, certainty, or positive knowledge; it is a conclusion that certain facts, ideas, etc., are probably true or likely to prove so:

IMO, you're a squeaky wheel.;)

Since you seem to want to take me back to school and have me appear as some kind of idiot by doing so...

The first of two sentences in your post was:
"IMO, I think the small samplings are more indicative of "squeaky wheels" wanting grease."

The second of two sentences in that post was:
"Everybody else, the majority, doesn't think it's worth the time/effort (aka - are okay with the status quo) to make noise about it...whatever "it" may be."

Now, since you prefaced your first sentence and not your second, how was I, or anyone else, supposed to know that your intention was to also apply "IMO" to the second sentence (the rest of the post)?

If you had prefaced the post with "IMO:", or "IMO..." and then began your next sentence on another line, it would have made your intention clear.
Or, had you prefaced your second sentence as well, such as: "IMO, Everybody else...", that would have also made your intention clear.

Going from the basis of your second sentence not being prefaced by "IMO" in any manner, I responded appropriately.

Please think carefully before employing such a petty act as taking someone to task (or school) over comprehension and/or vocabulary skills.
As in, be careful what you wish for.

I do appreciate your opinion when and if it is indicated that your verbage is indeed your opinion.
Again, not speaking for others, but simply reflecting the results of the polls,
if your last opinion is accurate, we squeakers have squeaked in the larger chorus of a majority.

Snipped: Watching the St Francis University video explains the reason behind the Elgin dash. Paul was ready to hock his dad's watch just before he was able to get some money to continue the project (rather that having to get a job). It's pretty obvious that the Elgin dash is Paul's attempt to assuage a guilty conscience for being on the point of discarding his dad's watch.[/QUOTE]

EtheG, You are right about pawn the watch (wish he had). But he had
tried everything to get 'any' kind of job but to no avail. It was his roofing
buddy from TX that kept him afloat & the rest is history to this point....PS:
The previous quote is not mine (Kuda's) but rather JEBar's response to one
on my posts, re. the Elgin debacle.............my post
is below:
Color me stupid, but I fail to
understand why the below &/or
the Geo Metro can't be made
available as "Options". It's not
as though these would add to
Elio's cost.............Doh!

You are correct. I was wrong to make it sound like he hadn't been making an effort to find work. I'm glad he didn't have to pawn the watch. I've had my back against the wall and have had to sell treasured items to buy food and pay bills. Once it's over, it's time to move on.

I'm not too worried about what the gauge cluster will look like as I'll be using a NAVDY. (I pre-ordered in November 2014, and they're supposed to be shipping by fall of 2015 - sounds like the Elio to be honest.) https://www.navdy.com/

However, as long as the dash isn't that Elgin dash, I'm good to go. That Elgin looks horrible.

A thought about the dash... I just got home after driving our Xterra. It's a great car but has, in my opinion, one design flaw. The instruments are white numerals on black. I know this is popular but it does have a drawback. In bright daylight they are very hard to read, especially when wearing sunglasses. Call me old fashion but this is kind of what I would like to see on the Elio dash.
