Did I hear right? ( 6:08 ) the Automatic transmission is going to be standard... Lars Larson stated that it was, and Jerome did not correct him??

Also hinted at 3 quarter not 4 quarter of 2015... Jerome just said EM was on track... so are we talking about July- Aug 2015 ... getting closer...

That is big news, I sure hope that is true Automatic... big money saver... now I could get more options...

There was also another story that stated some where, that EM was not going to have any back windows that opened ( van like ):(... they are going to have a mesh type opening...:confused:? has anyone hear about that idea...

Still great news... we are still on track... the Elio Nation will grow...

Thanks for posting ,good to hear Elio is still on track to begin production at least by the 4th quarter. Like Proud to Be stated there was no correction with the automatic option but I'm sure there will be an additional charge.

Remember, Proud to Be, this was an interview and Jerome may not have caught some of the minor errors. I think it is safer to wait and see what EM says about the Automatic and Lars did say 3rd or 4th quarter so unless we hear differently from EM, I will stick with the 4th quarter. LOL Sorry. Didn't mean to rain on your parade but I have learned that interviews aren't always accurate sources of information. :-) Z

As others have said I would not read anything more into the whole automatic thing than Jerome just failing to correct Lars. Over the last few months Elio Motors has said repeatedly that the automatic will be an option and will be an AMT add-on to the standard manual transmission. As the AMT hardware is an add-on to the manual transmission it will add extra cost for EM and they will pass this additional cost on to buyers.

As for the rear windows the last news I heard directly from Jerome was that the rear windows in the Elio will not open in the base model however there will likely be several options for that area including the van style vent windows.
