Another Washington guy. Sure hope they get it done. It would be nice to see some power plant options, but that will probably be later. Hi all!
Tre, eelcome to the Elio family and the forum. Her you can find the answer to nearly any question you may have. I think the first year Elio will be a simpe generic model so power options are likely in the following years. Also they don't match Paul Elio's vision. Plenty to learn. Enjoy the journey and the Elio experience.

...and yet another Washingtonian, here! This car is supposed to be mainly for my spouse; she's a Boeing engineer, and I was supposed to get her a 'tiny car' after we paid off the Subaru Outback (several years ago, now - she had been looking at the Corbin Sparrow). The Elio isn't tiny, but it definitely does have the 'cool factor' down! She gave the 'go' for all-in the day after I showed her the web site, and she's really disappointed after I told her that they won't even start being produced until late next year.

A Corbin Sparrow???? Has she been ill for a while or something? <Just kidding> That little joke battery thing (I can't even call it a carrrrraaaggghhh)
The Elio is so much better than that <there's that word again> carrraaarrgh.
Might want to read this about it

Did you show your wife the picture of the Elio next to a Caddy CTS? It's on the Elio site and I think it's the best example of a comparative size.
If you can't find it, let me know and I'll be glad to send you a copy of it.

Oh, she's seen everything on the Elio! She's really into it. She has a 12-mile city-street commute (usually done on her motorcycle), and thought the Sparrow would be just the thing for that, but we decided to wait until they had started producing their 2-seater before getting serious about it...and they never went beyond a single prototype on that one, I believe. There were a couple of Sparrows running around Seattle a while back, but I haven't seen one on the street in at least a year.

With the current Elio production target dates, though, she may be retired before we get the car so the commute distance wouldn't be a factor.
