It would be easy to discuss the ELIO...... if Elio Motors would just release some 'current information' in their Weekly BLOG!

If I go to an elio rally do we have to park our toys or do we just go around in a big circle counter clockwise ?

If this is an 'avaition' question [looking at your avatar], I'd say "NO"! We'd have been in a 'holding pattern' for over a year by then. :D
Then again, a never-ending loop of Elios driving through your town would get people talking! [queue the carousel music!]

I am from Ohio.Recently, the Dealership Associations came to an agreement with Tesla to allow Tesla to maintain 3 only storefronts to sell their cars. No manufacturer is allowed to sell direct to consumer. Unless PeP Boys becomes a dealer, the use of them to ship cars to customers is void. I don't know if you can buy a car directly from the factory and have it shipped to a dealer for pickup by any manufacturer. How would Elio get around this if they have no dealers?

Sound like a bunch of union BS to me. And people wonder why businesses close down in mass in highly unionized states like Ohio when a recession hits. Who the hell is the Dealership Association and what power do they have over Elio, Tesla or any other business for that matter? Is this some lingering Hoffa outfit with politicians in their pockets to ensure people have jobs that shouldn't have them to begin with and that enable union bosses to get rich off the hard work of others? This is one of the reasons its so hard for start-ups like Elio to succeed, because of all the other BS (mostly union) people who think they deserve to have their hands in someone elses pocket.

While I am a union member, I can't disagree with anything you've said. And to answer GolfSteve's question, "I believe" that because the Elio is considered a motorcycle, it doesn't have to play by the auto industies rules....could be wrong. Goofyone?

It is up to each state however, thanks to a lot of work done by Harley Davidson over the years, in the vast majority of states motorcycle dealerships can be factory owned.

Not to get too technical, but I think the Dealership Association represents management and owners, not the rank-and-file union types. In this case, the dealership association would be working to reduce competition from innovators like Tesla.
