I just can't for the life of me, commit to a non-refundable deposit on a new vehicle type from a new company. What's to say the company won't run into some type of brick wall they can't get around and they end up folding before they even get started? What's to say there aren't going to be many, many problems with this new vehicle type with a new un-time tested engine and driveline components? That's just the vehicle...with so many people already on the waiting list, it's going to take years for the company to be able to meet demand for just those people...think about how long someone is going to have to wait to get one if they're not on the list. The only way they get around this is if they have an automotive industry type of assembly line set up to build these things. Like many others, this vehicle is very intriguing to me, but I can't help but to think about how this company will get around and/or over the typical hurdles that all new businesses have to deal with.

I thought the same. But if they take my money and run I'll hunt them down very quickly. Love being a skip tracer !

Hello Bill Chase, for me the Elio and its team has shown me so much factual data, I went all in a week after putting down my first deposit. IN my eyes and reseach this was not a Bernard Madoff ponzi.
I can sleep at night, I am content with having gone all in $1k. I am looking forward to my Elio and its 84 mpg (enclosed, roll cage, comfort, AC,automatic, traction control, special designed motor and trans, lightweight). For all the Elio has to offer me, I can even wait for it in third quarter of 2015.
Terrence :)

Had my CC information typed in and then read the part that says PRICE NOT guaranteed, or even a sale guaranteed . I'm not afraid of a deposit (got one of the first Segways that way) but got paperwork with balance on it. When a businessman can't deliver on the price he advertises I think I'll wait. When I was in business if I gave you a price that was what you paid.
I even had a new yard sign made for the jump.
Anyway here it is and I will get one when I feel the person's word will be backed up or I can drive 30 miles and pick it up. Elio.jpg
I wish Good Luck to the rest and the best for the ELIO.

Thanks for letting the group know Wayne. Different folks have different 'drivers'.

I dont think anyone here thinks the 6800 is set in stone. obviously there will be options and all which will affect final price, as well as the usual taxes, title and destination fees. The 6800 could very well be base price, but I would expect to pay more. How much more has been the question debated often on this forum. I can live with some extras, but there is a point at which one has to re-assess the value. Where that point is depends alot on the individual and their circumstances .

I wrote the 1000 off the second I hit the send key. We shall see someone has to jump in.

These are two very different ways of viewing Elio Motors however there is nothing wrong with either one as we all have to make our own decisions about our level of comfort with this project and what, if anything, we are willing to risk for in exchange for a possible reward.

From my research and experience with Elio Motors I believe in the people and ideas which form the basis of Elio Motors. I actually believe in Elio Motors now more than I did when I started this journey and first put down $100 then upgraded to $1000. I have also always been fully aware of the large hurdles involved in bringing this type of product to the market yet I do believe EM has done their research and has positioned themselves to maximize their chances of succeeding where others have failed. I also know that, unlike many others, at the time I was fortunate enough that I could spend the $1000 without affecting my financial picture in any measurable way so this did make the decision much easier for me.

well understood .... I really respect the folks who believe so strongly that they have put up anywhere from $100 to $1000 so far in advance .... I also respect the folks who like what they hear but aren't ready to commit .... my first reaction was scam .... that quickly began to moderate as I learned about program's development .... note, I said moderate, I didn't say disappear .... for us, we will not purchase anything (be it an Elio or Stallion) until the spring of 2016
