Just altered it.

I changed it from what it was to this: In effort to secure a Department of Energy loan, Elio is offering pre-orders where the buyer can reserve the car for a base price of $7,300 (rather then the originally targeted price of $6,300). But, if you 'lock-in' (which is a promise to buy the car once it hits production), the price will be $7,000; in order to reach 65,000 'locked-in' reservations. This would show the DOE people are serious about buying the Elio.

But how you alter it (or if anyone wants to clean up my version), if you look at the very top of the page, right before the search bar, there are three tabs.

Read, Edit, View History.

All you have to do is click the 'edit' tab and it takes you to a page where you can edit it. The first version is in Visual Basic/HTML Code, so click the 'Visual' option to have it display like it's the traditional Wiki page. From there, you click on the paragraph you want to alter, re-type the sections you feel are wrong and then click publish.

There ya go!

No problem.

And I wouldn't say you were OCD about it... what was there was a blatant falsehood. Once I saw that, I had to edit it ASAP, because it was annoying me too! :D
Thank you for correcting it.

Any way of finding out who posted the incorrect information?

Goes to prove that we cannot trust many things posted in Wikipedia. It is sad really that the info or supposedly factual info can be so easily changed or Edited.

As far as I know, all the changes are anonymous. There might be an option if you get an account on Wikipedia, but I kinda doubt it.

But yeah, Wikipedia is a double-edged sword. It's nice to have a giant repository of user-generated content to read-through, most of it correct, but any jerk can get on and alter on a whim... so certain articles get a lot of trolls who will alter information because they don't like that person/place/thing.

So a certain grain of salt should be used (or at least verified by another trusted source) when researching with Wikipedia for answers.

Hmmmm....I thought the "originally targeted price" was $6800, not $6300.

I just corrected the Wiki page "Originally targeted price" to the correct *$6,800 amount

Someone should also use "than" instead of "then". Then is usually used for time related things. (This then that) whereas than is used when speaking comparatively ( Rather than use it incorrectly, change it and then relax.) Other than that, it looks good now.
