Anyone ever sit in a Porsche 365 C ?
Sat in an Elio prototype in front of a Hilton Hotel in Shreveport (in early 2016) and had a same feel of excitement and affection (as once i did in Zuffenhausen, West Germany...August 1964).
It's gonna be fun...if EVER they'll deliver !

Sit in it before or after the rusty floors had been fixed? :becky:
Before they're fixed is like sitting on a rocking horse; after is much better.
(Never guess I fixed a few of these would you ;))

Re: RUST PREVENTION

I hope that ELIO MOTORS specifications call for a nice THICK layer of galvanizing over COR-TEN / CORTEN STEEL.

Hope they don't go cheap on gauge of steel used either.

Have you ever say, or had a close look at a 356? They're designed like upside down bathtubs, with no drains. :becky:
Plus the fact, this edition of Porsche is about 50 to 60 years old; they don't build them like they used to; Thank Goodness. :thumb:

The people at EM have stated that they are taking every step they can to make the Elio as rust resistant as possible; a lot of rust problems came from manufacturers not being careful in their designs so as not to create pockets in the car that can hold dirt and water, the main cause for rust problems; plus inferior materials.

Used to work on 356's, so yes I've seen one.
My point is I hope they don't cheap out on the chassis.
I'm sure you would agree that using COR-TEN steel that is already a slow rusting steel, followed by a Mil-spec gal coat is something that wouldn't hurt.

What they plan on using is an item you would have to discuss with EM, because no one here has that information.
They have not released any of the material specs as of yet; but something that a lot of folks would like to know.
