He had a lead foot 310miles/70mph = 4.4 hours

An update for those interested... I took the insurance payout of $8200 and bought a 2015 Mitsu Mirage DE from Hertz car sales. 30k miles on the clock, $7800. This is my bridge to get to the Elio. Bought it in LA and drove back to SF. Got about 44 MPG, basically, double what the Audi used to get. Interesting that the Elio will nearly double the Mirage.

The build is similar to the Elio in some respects:

This is my first venture into an economy-minded vehicle. So far so good.

The M is 1.2L, the Elio is 1L, engine size.
I believe the weight of the Elio is around 1500 lb.

I pulled the weight off of Wikipedia as I couldn't find a weight reference on eliomotors.com.

Maybe now while it's still prototype; but the weight goal is 1250lbs; that's what EM is aiming for and what they advertise.
Fuel goal is 49city/84Hwy
