While there is not a lot of detail available yet it is very possible that this is just another big tenant for the former GM plant. Elio is only set to lease about 1.5 million sq ft of a total of over 4 million sq ft available at the plant. There are actually three large buildings at the facility and Elio Motors is only leasing one of them. So there are two other very large buildings available for IRG, who actually holds the lease on the property, to lease and they have been known to be looking for tenants to fill the space. By the way the founder and president of IRG is an Elio Motors board member and investor.
Elio Motors will rent approximately 1.5 million square feet of the 4.1 million square foot building from Industrial Realty Group, who leases the building from the IDB. IRG will seek a tenant or tenants for the 2.6 million remaining square feet of the building, which may include suppliers for Elio Motors.

(By the way the date on this page is wrong, this press release is from January 2014)

I have never had a concern about Elio Motors and the Shreveport facility until I read this article. I know it will work out for the best and will happen the way it is supposed to but I am a bit concerned now.

Am I the only one that finds it very coincidental that Paul Elio will be on the Fox Morning show on April 29th and "A public announcement — if it all works out — is anticipated at the end of the month, according to Williams, Thibodeaux, Linn, Bowman, Lynch, Johnson, Escude and Cox."

My guess is that the big announcement on Fox News has nothing to do with the plant and instead is about the announcing the partner(s) for Elio Motors authorized service which they told us several weeks ago to expect some news on.

I believe any plant announcement will only tell us that IRG has found a company to lease most or all of the rest of the GM plant that Elio Motors is not using.

on another note...what kind of Sunshine laws do they have in LA? All this smokescreen crap about manipulating stocks is BullShit. what they are doing is ideal for an environment of insider trading. The Government isn't allowed to be secretive about its operation.

I think we need to realize what is really going on at the Shreveport site. The site is being leased from Caddo Parrish by IRG. IRG then plans to sublease 1.5 million sq ft to Elio Motors. IRG still has another 2.6 million sq ft of building space they need to find other tenants for. IRG is responsible for the lease no matter what happens to Elio Motors however redeveloping these kind of sites is what they specialize in.

By the way the lease is available on the Caddo Parish website: http://www.caddo.org/index.aspx?nid=426

It seems to me this Stephanie Lynch has a Death Wish for the project.
Lynch said she does not believe Elio Motors is coming because they are “severely under-capitalized.”
“It’s good to hope but you don’t roll the dice with $7.5 million in taxpayer money with no job guarantee,” she said.
Lynch has been skeptical about the Elio Motors deal and sued the parish on the legality of the parish’s transaction to purchase it. But she acknowledges the potential benefit in the proposed deal being discussed. “It’s a good thing if it happens."
I guess she doesn't want an Elio, like the rest of us.
