This Passed through ND a couple the past couple days it isn't too bad. it is just a canadian air mass that has moved south. The times you really need to worry is when the Siberian Air mass moves over the Artic and makes it south of Canada.

It's not as bad as the last two years, when the Polar Vortex (sounds like a villain from Dr. Who) brought temps of -30F. Around here (eastern Iowa) we had a low of 4F last night with a high today of 12F. It's mostly clear right now, but by 9:00 tonight we're going to be in a Winter Weather Advisory, with 3-5 inches (7-12cm) of snow, with blowing and drifting causing hazardous driving conditions. I'm staying inside tonight.

Saw video on the news last night of some town in Pennsylvania (?) where a water main broke and coated everything in the surrounding blocks with a couple of inches of ice. I'm really glad I wasn't the person who had to go out at zero-dark thirty to fix that puppy.

Oh my goodness; that's not good. Here we are enjoying an early tease of spring, and that part of the country is prepping for the ice age.
No thanks, I'll stick around with the fruits, nuts and flakes out here on the left coast.

Minus 6 degrees this morning!
That's four degrees lower than forcasted.

Glad I got up when I did.
Pipes in the kitchen froze except for a trickle.
Opened the faucets and used the mini space heater.
Took about 10 minutes but they're OK.

-9 here in York Pennsylvania. I put in a new hot water heater yesterday by myself.

AND did a US census interview while moving it in the house down the basement steps

You must be talking wind chill. We've got a house in York, and it is about +12 degrees right now. About the same down here near Annapolis. Well, more like 15 right now.

Take a look at the time on those posts.
It's 14 degrees here right now, but it was minus 6 (not wind chill) @ 7:40 this morning.

I did look at the time on your post. Just didn't think it would have gone up 20 degrees in that time. I can only go by my weather app from here. Thankfully, I'm not up at our house in York right now.
