I ask again, anyone surprised ?

"After Johnny Manziel's ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, filed for a protective order last week, some more details are coming out about the fallout of the incident with Manziel.

Following the disgusting account that came out about Manziel hitting Crowley and threatening to kill her came out, Crowley reportedly suffered a ruptured eardrum from how hard Manziel hit her, her attorney Kathy Kinser told NBC5 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

"They expect (the ear) to heal, but it'll take a while," Kinser said to the news station. Dallas PD have recently opened a criminal investigation into the domestic assault case and while nothing new has come out regarding the investigation, the ruptured eardrum is certainly an alarming development.

Manziel denied the account to TMZ last week and Crowley was issued a protective order from Manziel. As a result, Manziel is not allowed to go near Crowley for two years."

It's like driving past a bad car wreck.... you know you shouldn't look or be interested, but it's hard to turn away.

Since Manziel is a Heisman (sp?) Trophy winner, he'll always be in the news. Since I don't follow college football all that much, and I could not care less about the Heisman Trophy, it's easy for me to ignore the Manziel news.

I feel bad for the Browns. They continue to make bad decisions about draft picks and coaches and free agent signings. Ugh.

And Manziel (aka Johnny Football) was bad news at draft time, it would have been better for everyone if he was never drafted in the first place.
Worse than that was paying him a bunch of money; that was enough to unleash him and get out of control; they should have hired a babysitter for him.

No offence to the Browns, but that seems like an organizational culture issue. Any team who seriously considers a player with known issues needs to be 100% certain that they are resolved on and off the field (this is doubly true for high profile positions like QB and #1 WR) before signing them. On top of that, a team should never even consider taking on such a risk unless they already have a clubhouse full of experienced professionals who can help keep them in line and coaching/front office staff that will hold them accountable.

When it rains, it pours:
Did Johnny Manziel show up drunk for a practice in the final week of the NFL regular season?

A report that came out the week after Cleveland played its final game of the year said that he did. That report was later shot down by former Browns head coach Mike Pettine. But according to a new report released by NFL Network’s Mike Silver, a Browns player told him that Manziel did show up to a practice drunk and that the Browns attempted to cover it up by lying for him.

“I was with a Browns player yesterday,” Silver says in his report. “Johnny Manziel, going in to what would have been a start late in the season, showed up drunk at practice on a Wednesday. The Browns lied and said he was in the concussion protocol. Let me say that again: The Browns lied. To try and protect and, I would argue, enable this irresponsible and very troubled young man.”

************************
This doesn't surprise me at all; they're trying to hide the bad about Manzel because they were probably going to try and get some trade deals or $ trading him to another team. If you can hide the bad about his antics he could be worth something; like this, his trade value is 0

true, but sad to say it goes way beyond any one team decision(s) The League has to step up and issue proper guidelines.
BTW, it still ain't over w/Manning

Are you talking about the HGH investigation on Manning? They're not going to find anything, no matter what they find ;)
