Speaking of fenders, does any one think that the separate fenders out in the wind would have any adverse effect on stability when steering, like rudders, at higher speeds?
Over 100mph, yes; below that, not so much. Even rear spoilers make no difference till you're doing over 80.

If you're driving over 100 mph, are you really going to be turning the wheel far enough for it to really generate that much force? Seems like that would be a recipe for disaster.

Elio top speed is said to be 100; so over a 100 isn't really a concern.

I believe I read that top speed was about 106 or 107.
Not that I'll go that fast unless I'm passing someone.
My usual speed is between 70 and 85 MPH.
What brought up this how line of speed on the Elio was because of a question asked by TCBronson; "Speaking of fenders, does any one think that the separate fenders out in the wind would have any adverse effect on stability when steering, like rudders, at higher speeds?"
My answer was more of a Smart A** answer saying that over 100 yes; being that the Elio tops out around 100 it's a moot point.

When we start getting our Elios there needs to be an exchange set up on this site to exchange parts. Someone with a black elio would dearly love to buy Huskerone's rocket silver fenders. If the various panels bolt on easily there will be a lot of swapping going on.

Yes, definitely a "Market Place" on the site.

I don't think that would happen here; any time a website does a Buy/Sell/Swap section if a transaction goes bad, the first thing that happens is that they hold the website responsible for it. I was a mod for two of them and saw it happen on both.
The site would have to be separate and know all of the ins and outs of running an online store (including legal recourse).
That's one of the harsh realities of living in a sue happy society.
It's a great idea but maybe best done on an established Buy/Sell/Swap site (like a eBay store).

I'm on quite a few auto boards and ALL of them have a "Market Place". The site's liability, or lack there of, is clearly in the TOS :)

And as I have told others that have made this same request; it is not up to me to decide.
If you want to have a Buy/Sell/Swap area you will have to take it up with the site admin Okuma Steve.
He is the one that owns and controls this site; there is nothing that I or any of the other Mods for this site can do.
So I would suggest you write a PM to Okuma Steve and discuss the possibilities with him.

I'm aware of that, I'm just saying that the site is not a "store", it is just putting people of like minds together, just like we do here now :)

Any "transactions" would be between the two individuals. It works just fine :)

Since NONE of us HAVE and Elio, it's a little soon to contact OS
