Because how in the world would Startengine (or anyone else for that matter)
know what individuals were (or for that matter know that there even were any individuals)
full of organic bovine fertilizer until the end of the 7 day window?

Unless, of course, all the pranksters are contacting them via the same email addresses
that they used to expressed interest and are saying, "Na, Na, Na, Na, Na!"

Which, IMHO, is unlikely.

I reserved shares and have tried to set up an account with Start Engine but have been unable. When I 'chatted' with Start Engine this morning they said I have an account with shares reserved (huh?) and sent me a 'reset password' link. I did that but it STILL would not let me in. It then told me I had exceeded my attempts. If others have this same issues with Start Engine they may have just bagged it. So far my impression of Start Engine is not very good...

You would not have been able to reserve shares during the "test the waters" phase without setting up an account.

Have a little patience and try your new password later. Most sites will "reset" after a set amount of time.
If you still have trouble, try talking with them again. The internet is not always a perfect beast.

He said to try back in an hour so yes, it will reset. While it is not a "perfect beast" I have not had this much trouble with a site in some time and some would say one that is this important. To me as well as Elio.
I certainly do not remember setting up an account to reserve shares other than just requesting them but I may have done it in a hurry I suppose.

I saved all my correspondences with Elio and StartEngine in a file, and threw a little note to myself what the password was. Being anal about silly stuff sometimes pays off (at least for me...I've got the beginning stages of CRS).

In hindsite I -vaguely- remember putting it on a piece of paper and then later (remember in a hurry?) looking at it and just seeing the name and shredding it.
Be that as it may, I just went in and bought 200 shares. Wife was not happy about it as she does not believe... Not to mention my history of investing has not been, shall we say, 'stellar'.
