Last Friday, I put down another All In deposit of $1000 for a second Elio.

My spot in line number is 16,070.

I said earlier, Elio Motors should include some T-shirts with every vehicle. I mean extra T-shirts when the customer picks up the vehicle. EM should be giving out many T-shirts. It is low cost advertising and the reservationist will probably wear them frequent.y
Yeah, but they would only be visible if they're the only shirt / jacket you have on.
I think a hat is better; or monogrammed / embroidered outer wear.

I'll never understand why people think it's so important to be one of the first to get something. When I ordered my Saturn Sky way back in March of 2006, it was said that it would take 6 months or more to get delivery. As it turned out I got mine delivered by June of that year. When they finally go into production hopefully next year on the Elio, I'd be surprised if it took longer to get mine then it did to get my Sky even though I don't have a high spot in line.

Latest graph showing monthly data: If the LA Auto Show, P5 reveal, and start of Investment window opening have only amounted to just over 30/day, then I expect no real reservation growth until production money is secured.

I tend to believe that it will take several weeks to know .... industry related publications have yet to hit in full force

I'm waiting to make a $1k all-in reservation until the E series vehicle testing confirms the mileage, safety and price targets are met (within a reasonable margin) and the design is frozen. If that happens, I think there will be a very strong chance that the Elio will make it into production.

I think there are a lot of people who have been waiting that will sign up at that point along with me or when production funding is fully secured. The P5 is still a prototype* and doesn't fundamentally change where EM stands in terms of meeting their goals and actually delivering vehicles to customers. At that point those are no longer in question, the flood gates open.

*While it doesn't grossly advance the business position as a whole, the P5 is an extremely important step in the engineering process. It will give a decent indication of how close the design is to being complete and guide the builds of the E series vehicles. It just doesn't really change the things that will drive an increase in reservations.

The one thing you might miss out on by waiting that long is the 50% bonus on your deposit.
They have said that the bonus money can end at any time.
