There's a lot of stuff floating around about the Elio. Issues or statements get issued by EM and others, then never get followed up. This thread is for all those floating balloons and any answers you may have found.

Here are some of the balloons:

1. Results from test runs of initial IAV engine.
2. Actual ground clearance of final vehicle
3. Sales of surplus equipment
4. Results of 501c campaign in terms other than "it raised some money."
5. Fleet sales -- what's the priority on fulfilling fleet orders compared to reservation holders orders?
6. Refined list of distribution center locations
7. ATVM loan guarantee status
8. Progress of Autocycle bills in both House and Senate
9. OBD I or OBD II? and related issues
10. How much will Paul Elio take to get rid of the Elgin Dash? Would a couple of million do it?
11. What is the actual cost of building a prototype, and where does the money go?

There are plenty more out there ... feel free to jump in with questions or with answers.

Those are all out there as far as I can remember except they did answer your #2 question. It was "same as a Mustang" and later quantified.

The Elio features an independent suspension with unequal length control arms, coil-over-spring and shock in the front and mono-shock with coil-over-spring and shock in the rear. The ground clearance is 5.75″ — similar to most of the passenger vehicles you see on the road today.

Looking at it, it seems there is a bit more adjustment than being used there. This is the area raised in the new P5, I believe.

I sure hope so. They lost the exhaust on the P4 to a manhole cover in Manhattan ... wouldn't want that happening to my baby. And for getting through snow, ground clearance matters!

Those questions should be answered with the unveil of the P5. Obviously, I'm fixed on the possibility that the P5 is the answer and solution to funding issues.

Actually, I can't see how the P5 answers 9 out of the 11 questions listed. It will settle ground clearance and ODB I of II, but that's it. And I REALLY want to know the answer to Number 10!

LOL... I hated it at first and then thought about it... Sure, it looks like it'll be a little more difficult to see speed but I haven't seen it in person yet. I've seen some renderings and am now holding judgment. It may come out that it'll look quite handsome... Okay, it may come out that it'll look in place on the Elio.

We don't have enough cash on hand to buy off the Elgin Dash. I've been staring at the Elgin so long that it's starting to grow on me, but have to see it in the P5.

Will the manufactured vehicles coming off the assembly line have fully adjustable shocks like this one? These look expensive.
