Pep Boys To Provide Service / Maintenance

I had a good chat with the manager at my local Pep Boys in Auburn the other night waiting for my snow tires to be put on. He said his mechanics will be trained once Elio has the actual vehicles to work on, though he said they have been oriented to the vehicle. He thought they were a good idea, he didn't say if he was getting one.

outstanding .... as noted in another thread, our limited experiences with Pep Boys haven't been good .... they have plenty of stores in our home area and have more under construction .... I deliberately stopped at one of them and asked the manager who told me he'd never heard the word Elio .... so, I've made it a point to stop at others when it has been convenient ..... to date nobody at the 5 Pep Boys I've visited had a clue .... we have been traveling in our camper for the last couple of months so things could most certainly have changed

I guess I don't understand how having Pep Boys as the primary service providers instead of doing it themselves has anything to do with the purchase price of the vehicle...

Cost.....if they have to build service centers, hire staffing for them, etc.... it will increase their overhead which they will have to pass along in order to stay in business.
