I still wonder if they aren't somehow connected to Elio -- perhaps they are a subcontractor who jumped the gun and got some facts wrong. But, I won't speculate. I don't want to give it any more credibility than we think it may have.So the incident wasn't hackers at all, just a stock broker, which shows there isn't much difference between the two.
It has to do with the conversion differences between the 506(c) terms and the RegA+ terms - earlier and bigger investors in startups generally get more favorable terms. As one previous poster noted, he was asked questions that would have tentatively identified him as an Accredited Investor, eligible for generally more favorable terms - he didn't qualify (per his post) so he would not be eligible. In my conversation with Mr. Nicholas, he did NOT say I would get a 50% discount on stock - he said words to the effect that the financial instruments to be purchased would effectively give an investor a 50% discount on stock. And that's all tied up in the conversion terms. Easy to misunderstand if that is not your background or experience.I kind of got the feeling that something MAY be coming up but that a 50% discount on stock was unrealistic (and probably illegal).
He IS connected to EM - as I noted in my previous post, he is a legitimate broker with Network1, the OFFICIAL fund-raising entity for the 506(c) effort. Was he eager to sell? Based on my personal experience with him, yes, but not more than most others that cold call. Did he get his facts wrong? Not any that I detected and as I understand the current fund-raising efforts.Well, they got their information from somewhere... This guy, an alledged "Patrick Nicolas" left a VM for me too during 3rd week of Sept., saying he wanted to update me on the Elio project. I called back but no one answered.
I figure if ElioMotors needs to shore up their support base by providing all of us with reliable updates, they can do it with occasional reports to all concerned through email. As useful as the Owner's forum is, it's not the proper vehicle to keep their reservation customers informed and for maintaining a good relationship.
I asked to be "unsubscribed" six months ago when I got tired of the Company constantly soliciting more reservations when I already had one, and not channeling that wasted energy into producing the car.
That contact must have come from ElioMotors because the forum shouldn't be using our phone numbers. Despite the Company's well-functioning websites, I'm still not happy with the legitimate communications we all deserve.
1k all in yields ASIL (a spot in line-)As far as reservation numbers, I think a lot of people don't realize that UNLESS YOU ARE AT A 1K ALL IN, the reservation number is vague. A IK ALL IN will yield a positive number...................AKA PRODUCTION or VIN NUMBER.
Just my interpretation.

1k also yields $500 incentive
also yields a "T"
and a bumper sticker (still?)
