So the incident wasn't hackers at all, just a stock broker, which shows there isn't much difference between the two.
Well, they got their information from somewhere... I still wonder if they aren't somehow connected to Elio -- perhaps they are a subcontractor who jumped the gun and got some facts wrong. But, I won't speculate. I don't want to give it any more credibility than we think it may have.

I kind of got the feeling that something MAY be coming up but that a 50% discount on stock was unrealistic (and probably illegal).
It has to do with the conversion differences between the 506(c) terms and the RegA+ terms - earlier and bigger investors in startups generally get more favorable terms. As one previous poster noted, he was asked questions that would have tentatively identified him as an Accredited Investor, eligible for generally more favorable terms - he didn't qualify (per his post) so he would not be eligible. In my conversation with Mr. Nicholas, he did NOT say I would get a 50% discount on stock - he said words to the effect that the financial instruments to be purchased would effectively give an investor a 50% discount on stock. And that's all tied up in the conversion terms. Easy to misunderstand if that is not your background or experience.

He IS connected to EM - as I noted in my previous post, he is a legitimate broker with Network1, the OFFICIAL fund-raising entity for the 506(c) effort. Was he eager to sell? Based on my personal experience with him, yes, but not more than most others that cold call. Did he get his facts wrong? Not any that I detected and as I understand the current fund-raising efforts.

As far as reservation numbers, I think a lot of people don't realize that UNLESS YOU ARE AT A 1K ALL IN, the reservation number is vague. A IK ALL IN will yield a positive number...................AKA PRODUCTION or VIN NUMBER.
Just my interpretation.

This guy, an alledged "Patrick Nicolas" left a VM for me too during 3rd week of Sept., saying he wanted to update me on the Elio project. I called back but no one answered.
I figure if ElioMotors needs to shore up their support base by providing all of us with reliable updates, they can do it with occasional reports to all concerned through email. As useful as the Owner's forum is, it's not the proper vehicle to keep their reservation customers informed and for maintaining a good relationship.
I asked to be "unsubscribed" six months ago when I got tired of the Company constantly soliciting more reservations when I already had one, and not channeling that wasted energy into producing the car.
That contact must have come from ElioMotors because the forum shouldn't be using our phone numbers. Despite the Company's well-functioning websites, I'm still not happy with the legitimate communications we all deserve.

Please understand that the "Owner's Forum" is not an official Elio forum. They are not involved with this websight.

1k all in yields ASIL (a spot in line-)
1k also yields $500 incentive
also yields a "T"
and a bumper sticker (still?)

My reservation also yielded an extra 15% :D

  • If your All In reservation or upgrade was made before January 1st, 2014 we will give you an additional 35% when you come buy your Elio. So, instead of receiving 50% bonus on top of your All In reservation amount, this elite group of reservation holders will be receiving 85% of your reservation amount as a thank you for believing in the vision and giving us your support from the very beginning.
  • If you have an All In reservation or upgrade from January 1st, 2014 through June 30th 2014, we will add 20% to your reservation bonus taking it to a total of 70%.
  • The final group that will receive the reservation and upgrade bonus is for those All In reservation holders from July 1st through December 31st, 2014. If you are in this group, you will receive an additional 15%. This will take your reservation bonus up to a total of 65%.

Seeing that Elio has over 36 Thousand reservations and the largest fb elio forum only has 2,038 members. Start Engines has over 10,208 pledges !!! It is safe to assume that a large majority of us aren't on social media and maybe on even on the computer. Now, I would agree that a snail mail corespondents would be more effective that trying to call folks, but reaching out to contact us is reasonable. Beside some of these calls seem to be alleged from Network One. I find it very interesting this is the fourth person that has been quiet on this forum for over a year to pop in and announce this 'news'.
